i'm dressing for summer, but taking a nice thick sweatshirt for the evening. hopefully that'll be enough. if not, oh well, i know i won't die. :) i'll just keep moving if it gets cold. *boing boing*

i really don't think it will get that cold. i've been checking the weather & next week the low is suppose to be about 70 and maybe even higher. a sweatshirt should suffice.

Q. I'm going to a music festival in early May in the Palm Springs, CA area. I've been before, and have felt like my fashion hit a sour note. Here's the kicker--the daytime temps can be in the high 90s, but once the sun goes down, so does the temp--maybe even 30 degrees! Any suggestions?

A. Layers, layers, layers. Pack clothes that work with each other fluidly. Colors that mix and match and pieces that can be layered or worn alone. Pack a lightweight jacket or 3/4 length coat that can be worn over dresses, skirts or pants. A pretty scarf can be folded and worn as a belt during the day and then unfolded in the evening and wrapped around you neck when the temps drop. A sweater draped over your shoulders during the day can be pulled on over a fitted button down, collared shirt or simple tank in the evening. Be sure to pack a wrap that’s cashmere, pashmina or lightweight wool. It can be folded up during the day and will fit easily in your tote to swathe around your shoulders for extra warmth in the evening. When I know I’m headed to a place with wacky temps, I always pack a pair of thin leather gloves. By just keeping my hands warm I can get a way with a more daring styles in colder temps. Believe me, others will be jealous. And don’t forget a few great pieces of jewelry. When you feel the need to cover up with clothing, a pretty necklace, dangly earrings or even a brooch can make a functional outfit look chic.
